A preview of Meghan & Eric’s intimate Leavenworth wedding at Sleeping Lady Resort in the Cascade Mountains. University of Michigan graduates and loving cat parents through and through, Meghan & Eric set out to have a relaxed wedding focused on meaning rather than ornamentation. Although, I have to admit the small details they did end up choosing were on point and felt like them to a tee—a theme that many of the couples I work with seem to adopt! It was a gloriously sunny day filled to the brim with the warm, hazy feeling of love.
We chose the Sleeping Lady for our wedding because we both love the natural forest setting, and the commitment to environmental conservation aligns with our values. We are both pretty laid back with a more modern eclectic style. When arranging our wedding, we were less concerned about a strong aesthetic theme, and more interested in cultivating a meaningful and enjoyable experience for everyone. To us, the most important aspect of our wedding day will be the community that comes from all parts of our lives to support us.
As it is a bit out of character for us to feel like the center of attention, we decided that we could make hand fans with the faces of our cats for the ceremony so that we can feel some levity when looking at those seated. All in all, we want to capture what it felt like to be there. We know that wedding days go very quickly, and we would like to look back on images that bring us to how we felt in a particular moment, rather than what it looked like.
