Destination Amsterdam Wedding

Our European travels reunited us with Amsterdam, a city that’s held a special place for us whether due to its canals and beloved bike culture, its promise of freedom and good will, its coffee and stroopwafel and bar cats, or all of the above.

It would also become the place where things aligned for us and Kirsten & Kyle who, also hailing from Vancouver, decided to have a no frills wedding in Amsterdam. To honour both parts of their heritage, they were engaged in Iceland and married in Amsterdam, during one of the most memorable and intimate wedding ceremonies we had ever witnessed in the grand De Duif on the Prinsengracht. Following the ceremony, we walked as a group to the tram stop that would lead us to the restaurant where we would grab multiple bites before heading over to the docks for a quintessential Dutch experience: a canal boat ride.
