La Fabrique St George Wedding

Shay & Justin’s wedding at La Fabrique St George Winery carried a sense of return. Warm, intimate, and full of texture, the space echoed their journey: layers of history meeting the present, softness balanced by strength. It felt deeply them.

Some connections take years to reveal what they’ve always been. Long before Shay and Justin named theirs, it lived in shared routes home, overlapping friend groups, and quiet familiarity: Without knowing, we walked the exact same route almost every day… those solo walks quickly turned into shared strolls. Looking back, they recognize that as the beginning.

They began dating in their final year of high school, but early adulthood brought distance. Justin headed to UVic; Shay moved to Japan. The time apart gave us space to grow individually, but it also made it clear how much we meant to each other.

In 2016, just a week after Shay returned home, everything aligned again: It felt like returning to a home we had both been away from for too long. From there, they began building a shared life: traveling together, rediscovering routines, hosting friends, shaping something both expansive and grounded.

Our wedding will be an intimate gathering of 60 of our favourite people, set in a moody, artful space that feels both romantic and laid-back. The florals lean sculptural and organic, with orchids, hanging amaranth, and other textured blooms in a rich palette of burgundy, copper brown, and lush green. We hope the evening feels soulful and inviting, with chill R&B playing in the background and long tables encouraging laughter, connection and flowing conversations. While we’ll include a few traditional moments like first looks, first dances and family formals, our vision is for the night to feel like a cozy dinner party celebrated alongside the people who have helped shape our story.

Seventeen years after those early crossings, Shay and Justin’s story has come full circle: not by accident, but by choice and an enduring pull back to one another. It was a joy to celebrate alongside them at La Fabrique St George Winery, an intimate East Vancouver wedding venue where warmth, texture, and moody light have transformed an industrial setting into something quietly magical.
