Polygon Gallery Wedding

Because laughing alongside your sisters in the majestic Polygon Gallery and taking in the ambiance was also part of how you wanted to remember it all. Dana & Ben, you are the loveliest. Thanks for taking me back to my old stomping grounds of North Vancouver.

I’ve had several opportunities to photograph weddings at the Polygon Gallery but I have to admit that Dana & Ben’s celebration was hands down a favourite. We started the day heading down to the water at Capilano Regional Park where we kicked off our shoes. For Ben, he seemed particularly in his element. We then made our way over to Lower Lonsdale, taking in the calm before the storm outside the gallery and then ducked indoors for some projection light play. They welcomed their beloved guests with open arms. As the sun dipped below the horizon and the peach haze could be seen from the brilliant Seaspan Pavilion, we enjoyed Beta5 cream puffs, knocking a pinata about, and a party like no other.

“We loved the idea of getting married in an art gallery. We loved the physical location of the space [Polygon Gallery], next to the city but on the water: we love and are energized and inspired by both urban and natural environments, so this seemed like a great marriage of the two. We also loved the idea of treating our out of town guests to a fantastic view of the city. We shared our first apartment together in lower Lonsdale too, so we have fond memories of the area. We’ve since moved back too and are looking forward to walking home after our wedding. ;)”
